UPESEAT 2019: Application, Eligibility, Exam Dates, Pattern and Syllabus

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies has just released the application form for the UPESEAT 2019. This exam is for students who would like to appear for any engineering discipline that the university offers.

We list out the various dates for the activities that are part of the UPESEAT 2019.

UPESEAT 2019 Application Form

The university has used the online mode to release the application form. All candidates must fill the form correctly and carefully before submitting. The main criteria for filling the form are as under:

  • Visit – https://admission.upes.ac.in/applicationformstep1.aspx
  • Fill your personal as well as academic details.
  • Scan the photograph and then upload the same
  • Enter a valid email id and contact number
  • Submit the application form by the 3rd week of April 2019
  • Once the application number is generated, the candidate should keep it for further use.
  • Keep a print out of the application form

The application form has a fee of Rs.1850/- that you can pay online using a Credit or a Debit Card. Net banking facility is also available for convenience of the candidates. Candidates can also avail of the Demand Draft facility.

UPESEAT Eligibility Criteria

Here are the requirements UPESEAT 2019 Eligibility criteria for candidates who wish to enroll for the UPESEAT examination:

The Admission Criteria includes the following –

Admission to the engineering courses will be offered to students who clear UPESEAT 2019 exam, JEE Main exam and their respective Board exams

The UPESEAT Eligibility Criteria includes the following –

  • Students should have the birthdates after 1st of October, 1997 Candidates who enroll based on the UPESEAT exams should fulfill the below mentioned criteria
  • Candidates should have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in 10+2 exams
  • Candidates should also have a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Candidates who enroll based on the JEE Main exams should fulfill the below mentioned criteria,

  • Candidates must qualify in the JEE Main exam with a valid score.
  • Candidates should have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in 10+2 exams
  • Candidates should also have a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Candidates who enroll based on the Board exams should fulfill the below mentioned criteria,

  • Candidates should have scored a minimum aggregate of 80% marks in 10th and 12th exams
  • Candidates should also have a minimum aggregate of 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics


UPESEAT Exam Pattern

The UPESEAT exam has a set pattern that is given under,

  • Examination mode – The UPESEAT 2019 exam will be conducted in the online as well as offline modes
  • Duration – The exam will be a maximum of 3 hours
  • Questions – There will be 200 questions
  • Type – The questions will be all objective type
  • Marking type – Every correct answer will be awarded 1 mark
  • Negative mark – No negative marking is given for incorrect answers

The syllabus for the UPESEAT exams can be taken from the 10th and 12th board syllabus. Most of the portions that are covered in the Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects in all the boards will be part of the examination. Students should also cover the English Language subjects thoroughly along with comprehension skills. The current affairs topic is ever changing and student s are required to go through the news channels for all the latest happenings in all streams of politics, sports, entertainment, etc. The syllabus for the examination will also be available online.

UPESEAT Preparation Tips for candidates

All candidates must be prepared well in advance for the examination to be held in May 2019. Candidates can practice the objective questions from test series and papers as well as books that are printed for this purpose. Try and solve several of these papers to familiarize yourself with the pattern and the speed that you will need to complete the exam. Use guidance that you can get from your seniors and other experts in the topics. Keep daily time for preparation and get into the mode of objective calculations. The main strategy that most students have relied on is the time management. For each of the 200 questions, candidates should know how to prioritize and calculate the answer in the right time.

UPESEAT Admit Card 2019

Once the candidates submit their application form, they will be given an admit card that can be downloaded. Candidates need to affix a photograph and attest the same in the space that is provided in the admit card. The admit card will have to be produced at the exam center before appearing for the exam. Those candidates who do not have the admit card will not be allowed to appear for the test.

UPESEAT 2019 Result

After the exam is taken, the candidates can check the results of the UPESEAT 2019 examination online in the last week of May. To check the results, the candidates should enter the application number as well as the date of birth. Candidates who would like to check their answers can also see the Answer Key that will be uploaded duly.

UPESEAT Counselling 2019

A merit list of the qualifying candidates will be put up and then the counseling sessions will be notified to the candidates. The counseling will also be done in the online mode at different rounds. Candidates need to register for the counseling sessions. They will need to carry the following documents

  • admit card and counseling call letter
  • 10th and 12th mark sheet + pass certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • JEE Main rank card
  • Passport photo (4)
  • Demand draft for fees
