JEMAT 2023 Overview

JEMAT means Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test. It is organised by Technology University of West Bengal. JEMAT is a State level entrance examination, invites candidates seeking MBA management programs or courses from top public and private institutes affiliated to WBUT. Apart from JEMAT, scores of CAT/XAT/CMAT are also considered for providing MBA admissions. The exam was conducted June 2023. Personal Interview & Counselling will be held soon.

JEMAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates seeking MBA admission in MAKAUT affiliated institutes through JEMAT have to fulfill the below listed criteria to be able to give entrance examination.

  • Aspiring candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering/Pharmacy/Technology or Architecture. 
  • Candidate should be an Indian citizen. 
  • No age limit criteria is fixed by MAKUT. 
  • Students holding CAT/XAT/CMAT scorecard can also apply for JEMAT. 

JEMAT 20223 Registration process

JEMAT registration process is completely online. It will start from the first week of June, 2023. Process is quite simple and fast. Filling an application first is the mandatory to appear in examination. Candidate has to fill details regarding qualification, academic and personal information. Application process also helps the MAKAUT to determine whether a candidate is eligible for examination or not. 

 Steps of registration

Right below, we have mentioned the stepwise procedure of filling the application form of JEMAT 2023. 

Step.1 Registration

  • Visit the official website of West Bengal University of Technology.
  • Fill the basic details including a valid email address and mobile number. All latest updates and information will be sent on your registered email address and a SMS as well. 
  • You will get a confirmation email containing a new user ID and password of the candidate. 
  • Candidates are asked not to share ID and password with anyone. 

Step.2 Application Log-In

  • Now, in the second step of registration, applicants have to log-in into the new application form tab by entering provided ID and Password. 
  • Candidates have to fill details like, their name, age, Date of Birth, qualification, address details, etc. 
  • After filling details correctly, click on the “NEXT” button for the 3rd step.

Note: Fill the entries carefully, because you can’t change it later. 

Step.3 Upload Documents

In this step, you have to upload scanned copies of documents by following the instruction provided by the exam conducting authority. 

  • Please upload the scanned copy of signature and photo with care.
  • Sponsorship Certificate (if applicable)
  • Reservation Certificate (if applicable)
  • Qualification Certificates.
  • Click on submit for NEXT step.

Step.4 Fees Payment

After filling the application form correctly and uploading documents, the last step is to pay application charges. Candidates can pay this amount by using online payment methods. After payment a confirmation page will appear that confirms that you have successfully registered for JEMAT.

JEMAT 2023 Application fees 

Candidates can pay their application through online payment method. It is a non-refundable amount that can’t be paid back by MAKAUT in any circumstances. Fees vary according to categories. Candidates can use debit card/credit card or net-banking options for making payment. 

  • Fees for General category is 600 Rupees.
  • For all reserved categories applicants application fees of JEMAT is 300 Rupees. 

JEMAT 2023 Admit Card

Admit card of JEMAT 2023 examination will be released on the official website of West Bengal University of Technology. It will be made available to you from June, 2023. Admit card comprises details such as name of candidate, time, date, centre, application no, etc. It is an entry ticket for JEMAT examination halls, so don’t forget to take it along with you on examination date. 

JEMAT 2022 Examination Pattern

As we have already mentioned that the JEMAT is conducted on 30th June 2022. Therefore, candidates need to understand the pattern for preparing accordingly. Detailed information regarding examination is given below;

  1. It is a computer based test. 
  2. Examination is conducted for two hours. 
  3. For the year 2023, there are only 50 questions that will be asked in the JEMAT examination. 
  4. Question paper is divided into three sections : mathematics, Logical reasoning and general English. 
  5. Most probably Objective type of Questions will be there in the JEMAT question paper. 
  6. Maximum marks of JEMAT is 50 marks. 
  7. 1 mark is provided for the correct answer.
  8. 0.5 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer.

JEMAT 2023 Syllabus 

There is no prescribed syllabus introduced by the managing authority till date. However, we have mentioned a few revised topics that fall under three major subjects of JEMAT. 

General English: Verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, sentence correction, antonyms and synonyms, analogies and syllogisms, fill in, etc.

Logical Reasoning: logical sequence, seating arrangements, clock, blood relations, binary logic, calendars, coding-decoding, etc.

Mathematics: geometry, algebra, time and work, trigonometry, number systems, probability, combination, and permutation, etc.

JEMAT 2023 Examination centers

JEMAT Examination centers are actually the places where the examination is supposed to be commenced. These places are called centers. Well, while filling the application form you have to choose the city as the examination center where you reach easily.

There are four cities for examination centers of JEMAT 2023.

  1. Kolkata, West Bengal. 
  2. Haldia, West Bengal. 
  3. Siliguri, West Bengal.
  4. Durgapur, West Bengal.

JEMAT Results

After the JEMAT examination 2023, candidates can check their results by visiting the official website. Results will be available in first week of July 2023. Candidates have to login by entering ID and password. Simply visit the website and enter login credentials. Go to the admit card tab and open it. Now click on download to take a hard copy of it for future use. 

After the announcement of results, the merit list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared by participating institutes. Candidates who achieve high scores have more chances to take admission in their dream institute.

JEMAT Selection Process

Candidates have to go through three stages to take final admission. First stage is Aptitude test, second is Personal Interview and last one is Group discussion. Candidates meeting with the requirements of all three rounds will be selected. However, a merit list will be prepared by the institutes that are eligible for admission. Appearing in all three stages is compulsory. 

Preparation tips 

  1. Focus on all subjects. 
  2. Practice test papers available online. 
  3. Use latest edition books for preparation. You can also take advantage of online material available for preparation. 
  4. Try to practice logical reasoning as much as you can because it is the hardest part of this examination.
  5. Prepare short notes and revise it regularly.
  6. Stay updated, so that you will not miss any important update.
