The following are the specific points which must be satisfied by the candidate in order to fulfill the eligibility criteria :

Nationality – The nationality of the candidate should be Indian and at the same time OCI which stands for Overseas Citizen of India can also apply.

Non-resident Indians/Overseas citizens of India –  candidates belonging to NRI/OCI category can also sit for the examination provided they are registered under section 7A of citizenship Act of 1955 and they would fall in the general category candidates. Also if these candidates want to be considered for seats under self-financing scheme they are required have to mention the same while filling up the application form of JIPMER MBBS 2019. Candidates who will exercise this option at later stages will not be considered for admissions under any circumstances.

 Age criteria for JIPMER 2019

  • Candidates should be of atleast 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the same on or before December 31, 2019
  • Birth of the candidate should have taken place or before  1st January, 2003
  • Age relaxation to any category candidate shall not be provided.

Educational qualifications needed to appear in JIPMER MBBS 2019

A candidate who wish to sit for JIPMER MBBS 2019 must have mandatory passed 10+2 or equivalent examination and subjects should be Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, including practical classes) with English as elective subject as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT)

Unreserved/General category

Candidates belonging to unreserved/General category must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with at least 50% marks taken together in all the subjects.

Reserved/Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with at least 40% marks taken together in all the subjects.

Orthopedic Physically Challenged

OPH candidates in belonging to General category must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with at least 45% marks taken together in all the subjects.
