Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) is a state level examination of Karnataka. Every year it is being conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority. The University offers admission to the candidates in MCA/MBA/M. Arch/M. E/M. TECH. Also, lateral entry for the MCA course is available. PGCET 2020 is a gateway for the candidates to apply for their future institute of Karnataka. The main focus in the management course is MBA. PGCET Latest Notifications 2020

  • Karnataka PGCET 2020 Counselling (Document verification) can be done on 22nd December 2020 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Results has been announced and counselling process has already been started from 13 December 2020.
  • Result was declared on 7th December, 2020.
  • The PGCET 2020 examination was successfully conducted on 13 and 14 October 2020.
  • Karnataka PGCET 2021 will be conducted in the month of July, 2021.

PGCET 2020 Exam Date

A tentative schedule has been prepared in accordance with the last year examination. The date may change but got through these dates properly.

  1. The opening of registration has been started from the 16 September 2020.
  2. The registration were closed by the 21 September 2020.
  3. The hall ticket or admit card can be downloaded by the 07 October 2020.
  4. The exam date of PGCET 2020 has been held on 13 & 14 October 2020.
  5. The answer keys were released by the third week of October 2020.
  6. The PGCET results were declared on 06 December 2020.
  7. The commencement of counseling is on the process.

PGCET 2020 REGISTRATION PROCESS

The eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by the candidate before they start registering. The registration process for PGCET 2020 is given below:

  1. The filling of the application form will take place in online mode only.
  2. From 16 September 2020, the registration for the application form will come into online mode.
  3. The online form for PGCET 2020 has been ended on the 21 September 2020.
  4. The details must be filled in the given format. Correct details should be filled by the candidate.
  5. The authenticity is managed by the upload of genuine photo and signature. Please make sure that you don’t do any mistake in the application form.
  6. Click on the submit button when you are done with all the details.

Application FEE

For each course, a payment of Rs. 650/- will have to be made by the candidates of General and OBC category. The fee for the candidates of ST/SC category is Rs. 500/-.

The application fee will have to be paid through deposition of the challan in any branch of ‘STATE BANK OF MYSORE’.

There are E-payment post offices available for the payment.

PGCET 2020 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Check out every point of eligibility criteria that are needed to appear in PGCET 2020.

  1.  Both the candidates of Karnataka and Non-Karnataka can apply for it.
  2. The categories like SC/ST/OBC/Category 1 are only applicable to Karnataka candidates.
  3. The domicile of Karnataka should be present with the candidate.
  4. Appearing candidates can also find a way to apply for the exam.
  5. There are various courses available like MCA, MBA, MCA Lateral Entry, M. TECH, M.E., M. Arch.
  6. The candidate must have passed a UG degree from a recognized board.
  7. The minimum marks are subjected to 50% for General category and 45% for ST, SC, and Category 1 candidates.

PGCET EXAM PATTERN

The exam pattern is changed from this year. Kindly be updated to the new pattern for PGCET:

  1. An only offline mode is entertained for the exam.
  2. The English Language will be the main language for the question paper.
  3. The total marks to be awarded are 100.
  4. The whole exam will not extend more than 150 minutes.
  5. No negative marking scheme is there for the wrong answers.

PGCET 2020 SYLLABUS

The official syllabus is yet to be delivered but still, the candidates can go through various required topics. For each course, the syllabus would be different. Some of the main subjects that to be included are:

  1.  Verbal Ability: one-word substitution, synonyms, phrases, idioms, antonyms.
  2. General Knowledge: social events, management, economics, Indian Business Environment, global environment, cultural events.
  3. Logical Reasoning: Analogy, Logic, Puzzles, Diagrams.
  4. Quantitative Analysis: Statistics, data analysis, arithmetic, interpretation, aspects, etc.

PGCET ADMIT CARD

By 07 October 2020, the hall tickets had been made available to the candidates for downloading hall ticket from the website. Candidate can enter the registration id and password to access the admit card. This card is very important for the entrance hall. You will also have to take an ID proof in reference to the identification. 

PGCET 2020 Counseling Process

The counseling session for Karnataka PGECT 2020 has been stated now. The candidate will have to be at the prescribed place with documents. The original documents will be verified before giving a seat to any candidate. The different documents required are:

  1. Admission Ticket
  2. Application Form printout
  3. SSLC Marksheet
  4. Study Certificate
  5. Mark sheet of the qualifying exam
  6. Caste certificate
  7. 2 photographs
  8. Degree certificate

Preparation Tips

The preparation tips are mandatory to be followed if you are serious about your studies.

  • Make a simple schedule for daily routine. Try to cover all the subjects in a week.
  • Collaborate with different test papers that are available online for free. You can prepare as many as online papers for best preparation.
  • Don’t forget to download and analyze the latest syllabus of PGCET 2019.
  • Logical Reasoning is one of the hard parts of the syllabus. It would be good if you focus more on this subject.
  • For General knowledge, start reading books and news that contains recent plans of general awareness.
