GMAT 2023 which stands for Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized management test which is conducted to provide admission to graduate management program, such as MBA, Masters of Accountancy, and Masters of Finance and other 5,900 programmes of more than 2000 business schools worldwide.

The exam conducting body for GMAT is GMAC which stands for Graduate Management Admission Council. It is a computer adaptive test which assesses analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal and reading skills in written English. Applicants has to submit 17027.50 (250$) as application fees in India.

It requires knowledge of certain grammar and knowledge of certain algebra, geometry, and arithmetic. The total duration of the test is three and a half hours.  It can be taken up to five times a year. The total number of attempts which a candidate can access over lifetime for taking GMAT exam is 8. There should be a gap of at least 16 days between next attempts. GMAT 2021 scores are valid for up to 5 years, and scores up to 10 years are available for reporting. 

GMAT Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criterion for GMAT is not fixed. However the following key points should be met:

  • The minimum age of the candidates taking the exam should be 18 years. However the upper age limit is not specified.
  • Candidates must have completed graduation degree in any discipline from any recognized institution or university.
  • Other eligibility criteria will be set by the university or institution where candidate is seeking admission.

GMAT 2023 Exam Pattern

  • No of Questions: The question paper will contain total 91 questions.
  • Mode of Exam: it is a computer based exam hence will be conducted in online mode.
  •  Duration: the total duration of the exam is three and a half hours.
  •  Subjects: The exam will consist of total four sections such as Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal.

GMAT 2023 Syllabus

Quantitative Section

Two types of multiple-choice questions are used in the Quantitative section:

  1. Problem solving
  2. Data sufficiency

Both Problem solving and data sufficiency category questions require basic knowledge of:

  • Arithmetic
  • Elementary algebra
  • Commonly known concepts of geometry

Verbal Section

Verbal section covers multiple choice questions in the following three categories:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Critical reasoning
  • Sentence correction

Integrated Reasoning Section

Integrated Reasoning mainly covers the following four areas:

  1. Multi-Source Reasoning
  2. Table Analysis
  3. Graphics Interpretation
  4. Two-Part Analysis

Analytical Writing Assessment

The Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) consists of one 30-minute writing task of Analysis of an Argument. The AWA measures the ability of the candidate to think critically, communicate ideas, and formulate an appropriate and constructive critique. Essay has to be typed on the keyboard.

GMAT Exam Centers in India

GMAT 2023 Exam will be conducted in various cities like Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dehradun, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Ranchi, Mysore, Mohali, Noida, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Trivandrum, Indore, Pune, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Patiala, Chochin, Tiruchillapalli, and Vellore.

GMAT 2023 Admit Card

Admit cards for GMAT 2023 will be accessible online from the website of GMAT. The admit card will contain information such as candidates name & roll number, exam center, exam date & timing, exam instructions, etc. It is mandatory for the candidates to carry the admit cards to the examination centre on the day of the examination.

GMAT 2023 Result

The GMAT 2023 Result will be accessible from the official website of GMAT within three weeks of the examination date. Candidates will be intimated for the score card through e-mail which includes important instructions for online access to score card. The GMAT Score card will contain Analytical Writing Assessment score, past five years GMAT exam scores, personal data provided at the time of registering.

GMAT Score 2023

The GMAT test scores the candidates on a scale of 200–800. As per the GMAT score, only Verbal and Quantitative GMAT score impact the total score. For the analytical writing section, test takers are scaled on a 0–6 range as per the GMAT score. Integrated reasoning is scaled on a range of 1–8.
